If you want your pillar candle to burn beautifully throughout its lifetime, it's always a good idea to avoid drafts in the room where the candle is lit and not to place it too close to a heat source or other burning candles. The first time the candle is lit, it is important that you let it burn for a minimum of 1 hour to ensure that the candle will burn evenly in the future and avoid drowning the wick.

When extinguishing the candle, it should be done with a candle snuffer rather than blowing it out. After this, it's a good idea to remove any remnants of matches etc. and cut the wick down to 1 cm. It's also a good idea to cut the edge of the candle so that it's no higher than 1 cm.
